ZOMG A PROBLEM!!!

Ok, you know how we wanted it so that the light would stay continously on? Weeeeellll yeah we cant do that.... tried and tried but we need electronic timers which are out of our price range to do it rather then the mechanical timers we have now! My dad and myself tried to explore different methods for making it work: (excuse the dirty napkin, we were out for my mums bday!)

But dont fear! I have some awesome game ideas we can implement for example:

There is one person instead of two, that one person presses one button (that goes off after 10 seconds) runs to a specific point, then runs back within the time limit and presses the next button and keeps going. The other idea is that the one person starts with 15 seconds, runs the course, then when they make that we turn it down to 14 seconds... we keep turning it down til they cant make the time! We can discuss this tomorrow during the testing anyway, im sure u guys will have more ideas too!!!

NEW GAME

OK guys, its time to get productive! Now, George your idea was totally awesome, loved it completely! But im not sure if we're all gonna be able to actually implement it in time. Matt and I had a brainstorming session last night, many ideas were shared (mostly silly like me: "What if we made a drinking game!" Matt: "Is that a physical game?" Me: "Oh yeah...") But then Matt had a awesome idea that we can implement!!

You guys know the beep test right? Well this is based off that, there are two buttons about 10 metres apart (though they will be wireless so we can move them and change this) Once you press one of the buttons a light will come on, that light will go off in a certain amount of time unless u press it again. So we have two people racing between the buttons, trying to press them before they go off. So lets say they have 5 or so rounds, and the one with the most points at the end of the 5 rounds loses (you get a point for every time the light goes off before you reach it). Or maybe the other way around

Pretty awesome right? Whats even more awesome is that my Dad is an electrician so I asked him about how we would go about making this and he knew straight away, he's going to show me how to make them!

I was also thinking this morning that we could make each of the rounds more interesting by making them do something different each time, like, they have to twirl around once in the middle... or something like that. This is something we can do as we test it out and stuff.

This is definatly a phyiscal exertion game, people WILL be tired at the end... I think when we present this we are going to need to give them some sort of incentive to play lol. I mean, we could pitch this idea as perfect for sports people training, in a way to make it more competitive and thus fun.

Any other ideas? Love this? Hate this? Let us know QUICKLY!

Rules for our game

How to play:

  1. You are given a scenario (e.g. Bank robbery) with 3 different things to find (e.g. Getaway car, Something to tie the hostages, and a weapon)
  2. In the time allocated you, using a camera phone, you must take pictures of these 3 things, in the area you are in (e.g. Getaway car = parked car you found, something to tie the hostages = power cord, weapon = a knife you found in the kitchen)
  3. As you aren’t given much time, you need to run and think very quickly in order to take all these pictures and get them in on time
  4. In this example, we will be monitoring your pictures and times. In a real life example there would be a website you would upload them onto, or maybe an iPhone app that would send the pictures in for you.
  5. Points will be allocated for appropriate pictures (each picture has a possible two points to earn, 2 points being very appropriate, 1 being appropriate but not really applicable and 0 points for something completely wrong), judged by Team Ossome. Usually there would be 3 rounds (each round with a different scenario), the winner being the team with the most points. We may have to change this system depending on how this presentation lecture is being run.

Scenarios (will be allocated to you):

Zombie Invasion:

-Place to hide

-Weapon to use

-Place to ambush zombies

Traveling on a holiday:

-Landmark your visiting

-What will hold your belongings?

-Where will you be sleeping?

-What will you eat?

Starting at a new job:

-Where you are working?

-What will you wear?

-How will you get there?

Organising a convention:

-What is the convention for?

-Who will speak?

-Where will it be held?

Starting up a restaurant:

-What will you serve?

-Where will it be?

-What does the Chief look like?

-What tools will the Chief need?

Transfering to a different course:

-What will you study?

-Who will teach you?

-What does your classroom look like?

Your meeting the prime minister!

-Where will you take him?

-What will you wear?

-What will you ask him for?

Your building a house:

-Where will you build?

-What tool will you need?

-What will you build with?

Your going to a birthday party:

-What will you wear?

-What will be your gift?

-What will you drink?

Your protesting in the city:

-Why are you protesting?

-What will you do?

-Where will you protest?

Your buying a new pet:

-What will you feed it?

-What pet are you getting?

-Where will it sleep?

Rules:

  1. You get 1 minute per picture you have to take plus 1 minute for traveling (e.g. 4 pictures means 5 minutes) If you don’t return the pictures in the time allocated to you you are disqualified.
  2. You can’t take pictures of your own team members
  3. No two pictures can be the same
  4. You can’t get pictures from the internet (however you can take a picture of a poster you find)
  5. All pictures must have the rainbow band we gave you in them (to prove you took them)

Rounds Ideas

Hey Guys, thought i'd type this up so we all have a copy. Its a list of all the different rounds we can have in our game, shows how flexible and creative we can make this game! I'm gonna try and make my boyfriend and sister run around and do some of them to test the effectiveness! I may not be able to post a video but i'll post what one I made them do and the pictures they took. I'm going to give them 1 minute per item. HEY I also thought we need to make the rule that they can't take photos of themselves or their own team members (aside from the wristband in the photo which i'll be making tonight)

-Weapon to use
-Place to ambush zombies

We don't need to use all these, this was mainly a brainstorm, but if you guys could post some more up that would be awesome, then we can choose a 'best of' for our presentation thursday! wooohooooooooooo lets go team ossome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
